Project Overview
The Open Hands project is an initiative dedicated to developing low-cost, 3D-printed prosthetic hand designs specifically tailored for children affected by ongoing wars and conflicts. Operating under the Micro-Photonics Group at BUCROCCS, our multidisciplinary research focuses on integrating accessible materials, advanced actuation (DC and servo motors), novel optical sensing, and electromagnetic energy harvesting to create scalable and affordable prosthetic solutions.
